AT&T Says "It Can Wait" This Labor Day Weekend

Tips to Keep Drivers Safe This Holiday Weekend

With people all over the country taking to the roads this Labor Day Weekend, AT&T wants to remind Baltimore drivers that distracted driving is unsafe and the direct cause of thousands of fatal accidents every year.

AT&T is calling on drivers to put down their phones and take the It Can Wait Pledge never to drive distracted. Below are some other ways that you can help combat distracted driving:

  • Learn who’s at risk, and how you can help: Did you know that 95% of drivers disapprove of distracted driving, yet 71% engage in smartphone activities while driving? Visit AT&T's website to learn more.
  • Keep yourself safe with helpful technologies: The newly enhanced AT&T DriveMode app helps you minimize distractions while driving by doing things like sending a customizable auto-reply message to incoming texts, letting your friends know you're behind the wheel and will reply when it's safe.
  • Take the 21-Day Challenge: Bad habits are hard to break, but experts say it can be done in at least 21 days. AT&T is encouraging those struggling with the urge to drive distracted to take the pledge and make a conscious effort for the next 21 days to avoid it. You’ll break the habit before you know it!
