Trash Collection Canceled Due To Winter Storm In Baltimore
Baltimore City has canceled curbside collections Tuesday, Feb. 2. Some drop-off centers will be open.

BALTIMORE, MD — Baltimore City has canceled its routine trash and recycling collection for Tuesday, Feb. 2, due to inclement weather.
Collections that are missed Tuesday will be made up Saturday, Feb. 6.
Alleys are icy in the city because of the wintry mix that has fallen since Sunday, officials said.

"Due to the inclement weather and unique infrastructure of our city, we have decided to cancel trash and recycling collections for February 2,” Acting Director of Public Works Matthew W. Garbark said in a statement.
"Our top priority must always be the safety of our workers," Garbark said. "With more severe weather and temperatures expected overnight, we want to do our part and stay off the roads to help city crews get streets cleared so residents can get moving safely again."

Baltimore is under a winter weather advisory until 9 a.m. Tuesday calling for a wintry mix. Several inches of snow have fallen, and up to 1 inch of snow and up to 0.1 inch ice are expected between Monday night and Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
People should watch their first few steps outside on driveways, stairs and sidewalks, due to icy and slippery conditions.
Drivers should slow down and anticipate potentially hazardous conditions during the morning or evening commute.
The Department of Public Works will have two drop-off locations open Tuesday:
- Northwest Transfer Station, 5030 Reisterstown Road
- Quarantine Road Landfill, 6100 Quarantine Road)
These centers will be closed:
Sisson Citizens’ Drop-Off Center, 2840 Sisson Street- Reedbird Citizens’ Convenience Drop-Off Center, 701 Reedbird Avenue
- Bowley’s Citizens’ Convenience Drop-Off Center, 6101 Bowley’s Lane
