BALTIMORE, MD — A member of the U.S. Marshals Service was shot and injured Thursday morning in west Baltimore serving an arrest warrant, according to authorities, who said the suspect was killed in the shootout.

A deputy U.S. Marshal was serving an arrest warrant in the 1400 block of North Mount Street at the time, according to authorities. The warrant was for a fugitive wanted on attempted murder and robbery charges, WJZ reported.

Agents were inside the home after 6 a.m. when the suspect opened fire, according to WBFF, which reported the deputies fired back.

The marshal was on life support, according to the Associated Press.

This was not the first time Green had fired at law enforcement officers this week, according to The Baltimore Sun, which reported he was wanted after a shootout Saturday at Compare Foods supermarket in the 5600 block of The Alameda, where he worked as a security guard. The newspaper reported he made a getaway after exchanging gunfire with police who were called to the store around 12:30 p.m. Saturday after he became enraged over his paycheck.
