Weather Decision From Baltimore City Public Schools For Jan. 8

BREAKING: Baltimore City Public Schools changed its schedule for Wednesday due to inclement weather.

BALTIMORE, MD — Public schools in Baltimore City will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 8. Officials made the announcement Wednesday morning.

Previously, the plan was for schools to convene for a scheduled half-day; however, due to inclement weather, Baltimore City Public Schools announced classes would be closed.

The district office will open two hours late, and essential employees are to report on time, according to a statement from the city school system, which advised workers to check their email.

The closure of schools comes the day after snow blanketed Baltimore. Based on preliminary National Weather Service data, about 2.3 inches of snow was reported in Pimlico.
