BALTIMORE, MD — The winds whipping across the state are the tip of the iceberg for Maryland weather. The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for most of the state of Maryland, forecasting gusts of 50 mph on Wednesday. But that's not all. The forecast shows that a 30-degree temperature drop is coming, and after temps yo-yo over the next couple of days, there is a possibility of snow this weekend.
Let's start with the wind. Strong winds will last until early Wednesday evening, according to weather officials. A wind advisory is in effect until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, calling for sustained 25 to 35 mph winds with gusts up to 50 mph.
During a wind advisory, driving may be difficult for some, particularly in high-profile vehicles. Transportation officials advise keeping both hands on the wheel to maintain control. In addition, power outages and falling tree limbs are possible.
