Missing 12-Year-Old Boy Has Been Found: Sheriff

Authorities said boy last seen in Edgewood has been located.

EDGEWOOD, MD – A boy who went missing from Edgewood Thursday has been located, the Harford County Sheriff’s Office reported Friday afternoon.

Twelve-year-old Qy’ance Vesean Worrell was found in Baltimore City, according to Harford County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Cristie Kahler.

“...we are very glad to have located him unharmed, especially with this weather bearing down on us,” Kahler told Patch. “We appreciate the community sharing his information.”

Harford County is under a blizzard warning from 6 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Sunday, and the National Weather Service is forecasting nearly 2 feet of snow during that time period.

Qy’ance Vesean Worrell was last seen in the 2900 block of Ancon Court in Edgewood at approximately 3:45 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 21, the sheriff’s office reported.

He may be wearing a two-toned blue jacket, a blue sweatshirt and blue jeans, according to the report. Qy’ance is described as 5’1” tall and 120 pounds with a short haircut.

Authorities said he may have been headed to Baltimore, and the preliminary investigation indicates he may be bound for Bentalou Street or Arunah Avenue and is known to frequent Hilton Street and Security Boulevard.

“While foul play is not suspected, the pending severe weather conditions are cause for concern for Worrell’s well-being,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement Friday.
