2,974 Flags In Front Of Bel Air Town Hall Honor 9/11 Victims
The Town of Bel Air, Bel Air Police Department and Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company installed flags outside Town Hall honoring 9/11 victims.

BEL AIR, MD — Nearly 3,000 flags were placed outside the Bel Air Town Hall Thursday, in advance of the 20-year anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
"We are going to be putting 2,974 flags in front of Town Hall," Bel Air spokesperson Patti Parker said, "in honor of the lives lost on 9/11."
The flags were installed Thursday morning and will be up through Monday, according to Parker.

The Town of Bel Air, Bel Air Police Department and Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company installed the flags outside Town Hall on Hickory Avenue.


More than 2,900 victims died in a series of terrorist attacks carried out by 19 militants associated with the Islamic extremist group al-Qaida on Sept. 11, 2001. As a result of the attacks, 69 Marylanders lost their lives.
