3 Heroin Overdoses Reported Within Hours: Officials
Harford County paramedics handled multiple overdose calls overnight, first responders reported Thursday morning.

Paramedics in Harford County responded to three heroin overdoses Wednesday night, according to Rich Gardiner, spokesman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.
Gardiner said the overdoses occurred within a matter of hours and were nonfatal.
So far this year, there have been 46 heroin overdoses in Harford County, according to Harford County Sheriff's Office spokesman Kyle Andersen, who said six of them were fatal.

Law enforcement responded to a heroin overdose at least every other day in 2015 in Harford County, according to data released by the Harford County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials said that last year there were 27 fatal overdoses in Harford.

As the number of overdoses increases, Harford County has launched public awareness campaigns including town halls, billboards and signs drawing attention to the dangers of heroin use in the past year.
