5 Things: Lists of Gifts

Last week, Patch gave you a crash course in of successful and meaningful holiday shopping. But just in case you need some extra help, we've rounded up a few of the best gifts from local stores to spark your imagination a little more. Happy shopping!

1. "Holiday Pet Bell Collar" by Plush Puppies ($4.99)

• Your furry best friend deserves the best, and The Mill has a great selection of gifts for a range of animals from birds to horses. This Santa-style collar was absolutely irresistible, and my pug Bella doesn't seem to mind it either (check her out in the photos, right).

• You can never go wrong with anything that sparkles like these gorgeous bracelets from Two Sisters' best-selling artist Patricia Locke. They're handmade in the United States with sterling silver or 24-karat gold over pewter and set with Austrian crystals. And, since my mom is an owner of Two Sisters and I've worn many of the artist's designs, I can promise that they receive lots of compliments!

5. Health Club Membership to the BAAC (various)

• Memberships to any particular place (health clubs, dance studios, museums) do not fall into the "thoughtless gift-giving" category in which standard gift cards belong. For a spouse who has some very serious intentions to get healthier in the new year or for a child who's training to make a sports team, a membership to the Bel Air Athletic Club will be truly appreciated.
