9 Displaced by Darlington House Fire, Officials Say

Several fire companies came to the aid of residents in Darlington, who officials say require disaster assistance.

DARLINGTON, MD – Nine people were displaced by a house fire on Conowingo Road Monday night, according to Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association spokesman Rich Gardiner.

Gardiner said nobody was injured in the blaze, which reportedly broke out in the 4000 block of Conowingo Road before 5:30 p.m. on Monday.

Disaster assistance was requested to help the residents, according to Gardiner.

By 6 p.m. Gardiner reported the fire was declared under control.

Darlington Volunteer Fire Company and crews from surrounding companies participated in the firefight, according to Mike Laslo of the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.

Bel Air, Whiteford, Level, Water Witch, Susquehanna Hose, Aberdeen, Delta-Cardiff and Rising Sun fire companies were among those providing mutual aid.

According to Laslo, Conowingo Road/US 1 was closed between MD 440/Dublin Road and Hughes Road during the firefight.
