After Teen Burned, Fallston Man Cited for Illegal Fireworks: Officials
The Office of the State Fire Marshal issued citations.

After a teen was burned in Fallston on the Fourth of July, the Office of the State Fire Marshal reports it has cited the homeowner.
Jeffrey S. Hoffmann, 51, of the 1800 block of Brickhouse Lane in Fallston, received $500 worth of citations for discharging and possessing fireworks without a permit, according to the fire marshal.
The fire marshal reported that at approximately 9:50 p.m. Saturday, Hoffmann had been setting off ground-based and aerial fireworks when an aerial firework exploded in front of a 15-year-old girl who had been sitting on the ground with her family about 25 feet away.

The girl’s father put her in the swimming pool at the house in an attempt to help her, the report said.

Paramedics responded and took her to the Johns Hopkins Hospital’s Pediatric Burn unit, where the fire marshal said 9 percent of her legs were covered with first-degree burns.
Authorities said Hoffmann purchased the fireworks in Pennsylvania.
