AleCraft Brewery Sets Tentative Opening Date In Bel Air

"Bel Ale" will soon be available from a craft brewery on Main Street.

BEL AIR, MD — The new craft brewery in Bel Air has set a tentative opening date. AleCraft Brewery is aiming to welcome beer enthusiasts to its Main Street location on Friday, Dec. 15, the owners announced.

Four recipes are in the fermenter and another three are set to be brewed this weekend, the brewery reported on Wednesday after it was granted its liquor license. Among the offerings will be "Bel Ale."

The brewery is a progression from the original business model. AleCraft started in 2013 as a home brew supply shop on Office Street, which co-owners Ken Roberson and Brad and Eryn Streett have expanded. It grew into a larger shop on Bond Street and will ultimately be based on South Main.

Now that the Harford County Liquor Control Board granted the trio a Class DBR license, AleCraft is licensed as a brewery and can brew up to 500 barrels a year.

It plans to brew single-barrel batches of craft beer, which the owners say allows for a unique experience. Kits will be for sale in the home brew supply shop on site so that enthusiasts can reproduce what they are imbibing at the taproom once they go home.

AleCraft Brewery is in the Preston Stationery building facing Main Street; the business is leasing 4,300 square feet there. It will include two separate entities, the supply shop and the brewery/taproom.

AleCraft Brewery and AleCraft Brewing Supply will open at 319 South Main Street in Bel Air. The target date for opening is Friday, Dec. 15.
