"The family donates these bears with one simple goal, to bring comfort and a smile to a child going through a difficult time. Our officers will carry these bears in patrol vehicles and provide them to children during calls where a little extra support can make all the difference. We are truly grateful to the Leisher family for allowing us to help carry on Bobby’s legacy right here in our community," the police department stated.

Bobby Leisher, who was 22 at the time of his death, lived in Bel Air, as well as in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Charlotte, North Carolina. He was born in Orlando, Florida. He graduated from Oviedo High School, located in Oviedo, Florida, in 2004 where he played shortstop on the varsity baseball team. When he passed away, he was a business major at the University of Central Florida, according to his obituary.
