Grocery shoppers looking for healthy options will have yet another natural store to visit in Maryland.

Popular health food grocer Sprouts Farmers Market will be opening a third location in Montgomery County as an anchor in a redevelopment project at a Rockville shopping center. Sprouts recently announced it would be opening its first location in Prince George's County in mid-2028.

Also, leaders were on hand recently for the opening of the largest human composting facility in the country - and the world - which happens to be housed in Howard County. The Elkridge facility of Earth Funeral is also the company's first on the East Coast. It can process up to 2,000 human remains annually and converts them into nutrient-rich soil.

The new Maryland Army National Guard facilities include larger, climate-controlled maintenance bays capable of servicing oversized military vehicles, heated flooring, overhead cranes and an upgraded shop infrastructure to increase maintenance efficiency and reduce workplace hazards.

Earth Funeral recently opened the largest human composting facility in the world in Elkridge. Coined as returning to nature through soil transformation, human composting is a "natural alternative" to burial or cremation that "cremates new life."

$45M Maintenance Facility Opens At Havre de Grace Military Reservation

The Maryland Army National Guard has opened a $45 million maintenance facility in Harford County. Leaders recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Gov. Wes Moore for the Combined Support Maintenance Shop complex, which is located at the Havre de Grace Military Reservation.
