Armed Bank Robbery Suspect Detained In Bel Air: Sheriff

A road was closed for the investigation into a bank robbery, the Harford County Sheriff's Office reported.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — The suspect in a bank robbery in Edgewood was taken into custody in Bel Air Monday morning, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office.

The suspect went into BB&T in the 1000 block of Gateway Road in Edgewood at approximately 10:36 a.m. and showed a weapon before leaving with an undisclosed amount of cash, officials said.

His vehicle was seen soon after near Hillswood Road in Bel Air, where authorities reported before 1 p.m. that the road was closed due to the investigation.

As of 3 p.m., officials said the road had reopened.

There is no threat to the community, according to the sheriff's office.
