Shots Fired, Customer Robbed In Holdup At Store On Route 22: Sheriff

Armed robbery at Churchville Road business injured one person. Suspects are at large, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office.

CHURCHVILLE, MD — Shots were fired, an employee was assaulted and a customer was robbed during a holdup at an electronics store Tuesday on Churchville Road, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office.

Despite a canvass of the area immediately following the armed robbery, deputies said the two suspects remained at large Wednesday, and a reward of up to $2,000 was being offered for information.

Officials said that two men walked into the Power Swift Mobile store in the 2300 block of Churchville Road at noon on Tuesday, at which point one showed a handgun and demanded money.

During a struggle between the suspects and employee, authorities said one round was fired; however, nobody was injured in the shooting.

One of the suspects assaulted an employee, according to officials, who said the suspect left with cell phones and cash in an unknown direction.

In the midst of the holdup, a customer was robbed of property, officials reported; that person was not injured.

When deputies responded, they found someone suffering from head and facial injuries.

Deputies from the sheriff's office canvassed the area but were unable to find the suspects. The Criminal Investigations Division took over the investigation, and the Forensic Services Unit responded to process the scene for evidence.
