Arson Investigation Ensues After Truck Blaze In Joppa: Fire Marshal
Authorities said that a truck fire in Joppa caused $25,000 in damage and was intentionally set.

JOPPA, MD — A truck fire in Joppa is being investigated as arson, authorities say.
A passerby reported that a vehicle was ablaze on Pauls Road at 1:13 a.m. on Friday, April 28, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
The Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company responded and brought the blaze under control within five minutes, the fire marshal said.

David A. Desell, 27, had crashed the 2008 Ford F-250 into a tree about 30 minutes before the fire was discovered, officials reported. Desell left the scene, where there was significant damage to the passenger side of the truck, according to the fire marshal.
Investigators have determined the fire was intentionally set and caused $25,000 in damage. It began in an interior passenger compartment, the fire marshal reported Monday morning.
