Bel Air 7-Eleven Knifepoint Robbery: Charges Filed Against 2 Men

The suspects in a knifepoint robbery at the 7-Eleven on Main Street have been charged, the Bel Air Police Department reports.

BEL AIR, MD — Two people were charged in connection with the armed robbery of the Bel Air 7-Eleven, according to police. The charges came six months after the crime; the robbery on South Main Street in Bel Air occurred in January.

Police said that a man showed a large knife and demanded money from the clerk at the convenience store in the 300 block of South Main Street at 2:14 a.m. on Jan. 24.

The robber had a blue bandanna covering his face and after taking an undisclosed amount of currency, he got into a black Nissan Altima and took off, officials reported.

What the Bel Air Police Department described as an "extensive investigation" led to charges this week against two men.

Colby Patrick Ercolani, 23, of White Haven, Pennsylvania, was arrested in Scranton, Pennsylvania, on July 23. Police said he has waived extradition and will be charged with robbery and related charges.

Corey Michael McNulty, 24, of Plains, Pennsylvania, was arrested in Edgewood on July 25 and is being held without bail at the Harford County Detention Center after being charged with the following offenses:

  • Armed robbery
  • Robbery
  • Theft from $100 to $1,500
  • Possessing a dangerous weapon with intent to injure
  • Conspiracy to commit robbery

Police said officers reviewed area surveillance footage, interviewed additional witnesses and received help from allied law enforcement agencies before obtaining arrest warrants.

Bel Air police thanked the public for assisting in the investigation as well as the Harford County Sheriff’s Office, Maryland Transportation Authority Police, Southold Town Police Department in New York, Philadelphia Police Department, Delaware Valley Intelligence Center, Pennsylvania State Police, and the parole/probation departments in Harford County and Lakawanna County, Pennsylvania.

McNulty is due in Harford County District Court for a preliminary hearing on Aug. 23.
