Bel Air Ambulance, Pedestrian Involved in Route 24 Crash: Official
Part of Route 24 was closed Wednesday afternoon, according to Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS spokesman.

Maryland State Police officials are investigating a crash between an ambulance and a pedestrian that occurred on Route 24 Wednesday afternoon, according to Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association spokesman Rich Gardiner.
Route 24 was closed to northbound traffic in the area of West Ring Factory Road, Gardiner said in a statement at approximately 4:15 p.m.
A Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company medic was taking a person to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air when a pedestrian was hit, according to Gardiner.

The pedestrian has injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening and was being taken to a local hospital, Gardiner said.
Another vehicle for the patient who was in the ambulance at the time of the crash was requested to take the person to Upper Chesapeake, according to Gardiner.

On Wednesday afternoon Maryland State Police officers were investigating the cause of the crash, which has not been determined, Gardiner said.
Drivers were asked to avoid the area.
