Bel Air Firefighters Battle Two-Alarm Blaze in Fallston

Crews from Harford and Baltimore counties worked to control fire shooting through roof off Baldwin Mill Road.

FALLSTON, MD — Firefighters from Bel Air were among those who fought a two-alarm fire blaze Tuesday morning in Fallston.

Before 10 a.m., crews were called to the 2000 block of Baldwin Mill Road and found fire coming from the roof of a residence, according to Rich Gardiner, spokesman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.

The Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company sent two engines, a tower and utility truck to the scene, Gardiner said.

By 11 a.m., the fire had been declared under control, and the Office of the State Fire Marshal was investigating, according to Jenn Chenworth, spokeswoman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.

Chenworth said that the fire department remained at the scene “with extensive overhaul,”meaning crews were checking the structure to ensure there were no places where the fire had extended and left hot spots.

Route 165 was closed between Putnam Road and Charles Street, and drivers should expect delays in the area, Chenworth said.
