Bel Air License Plate a Possibility: ICYMI

BEL AIR, MD – Want your vehicle to sport hometown pride?

The town of Bel Air has put the call out for those who would like their very own Bel Air license plate to see if there is enough interest to merit producing them.

At least 25 registered vehicle owners have to say they would like a particular license plate before the Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) will design and produce it. Those who express interest initially do not necessarily need to purchase one, according to the town of Bel Air.

It will cost $25 at the MVA to get the Bel Air plate.

The town of Bel Air would not be the first local entity to have its own plate.

Already, the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company has a custom plate, and the Bel Air Corvette Club does too.

In 2012, Havre de Grace released its own license plate, which bore a commemorative design that paid tribute to the city's War of 1812 bicentennial.
