Hamilton’s father—Henry Eric Hamilton—lived at the Swallow Lane home where the homicide occurred, according to Lt. Michael Holmes of the Cecil County Sheriff’s Office. As of Monday afternoon, Henry Eric Hamilton remained at large, the sheriff’s office reported.
The investigation began after deputies responded to a report of shots fired around 10:36 p.m. on Wednesday and found a 19-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds near a residence in the 400 block of Appleton Road in Elkton, the sheriff’s office reported.

The victim was airlifted to Christiana Hospital, where he was treated and released the following day, according to The News Journal. He is not being identified due to safety concerns, the sheriff’s office said.

Charging documents indicate the victims had been inside an Infiniti in the driveway, speaking to Henry Eric Hamilton, when he suddenly began sweeping with a broom, prompting several men with guns to fire into the vehicle, the Cecil Whig reported. Serrano, who had been driving, reversed into a tree to get away, then the surviving victim reportedly got out the window and hid from the suspects.
The incident was believed to be drug-related—the suspects thought the victims would have drugs and money when they arrived at the residence—according to the Cecil County Sheriff’s Office.
Kimberlie Marie Perez, 45, of the unit block of Swallow Lane, was charged with accessory after-the-fact and is being held at the Cecil County Detention Center. Perez had been assisting the suspects after the homicide occurred, the report from the sheriff’s office said. She lived at the home with Henry Eric Hamilton, according to Holmes of the sheriff’s office.
According to The Whig, Perez hid the guns involved in the homicide in her vehicle.
