Bel Air Man Dies In Labor Day Weekend Crash: Maryland State Police
A Bel Air man died after the vehicle he was driving crashed into a semi that had broken down on the outer loop of Interstate-695.
HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A 35-year-old Bel Air man has died after a fatal two-vehicle crash unfolded Friday at about 9 p.m.
Maryland State Police are investigating the crash that happened in Baltimore County on the outer loop of Interstate-695 at Stevenson Road in Pikesville. According to a preliminary investigation, a silver Nissan Frontier was traveling on the outer loop when for unknown reasons, it veered off the roadway onto the shoulder and hit a broken down tractor-trailer, leading to both vehicles to catch on fire, according to the Maryland State Police.
Anthony Robert Schepis was driving the Nissan and declared dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer was unharmed. The outer loop of I-695 was temporarily closed as a result of the crash.
