Bel Air Man in Distress Fled to Home Depot: Sheriff
Man suffering medical emergency ran away as first responders were en route; there was a warrant out for his arrest.

Deputies responding to a medical emergency in a Bel Air neighborhood Tuesday had to search for the patient, who was found behind a nearby home improvement store, according to Harford County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Cristie Kahler.
At 8:06 a.m. Tuesday, the Harford County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 800 block of High Plain Drive, where there was reportedly someone in cardiac arrest from a heroin overdose.

Deputies routinely respond to cardiac arrest calls to ensure there is no foul play, according to Kahler.
While deputies were on the way to the house in Fairwind Farms, they learned there was a warrant out for the man’s arrest in Baltimore County, Kahler said.

When they arrived, he was gone, according to Kahler.
Deputies canvassed the area for the patient—a 28-year-old from the 800 block of High Plain drive—and found him behind the Home Depot, according to Kahler.
First responders evaluated him, Kahler said; then he was placed under arrest and taken to the Harford County Detention Center.
