Bel Air Man Wins $100,000 on Scratch-Off Ticket

'I just became so overwhelmed with emotion that I just started screaming out loud.' —Bel Air lotto winner

BEL AIR, MD — Those who heard a man screaming in the Weis parking lot recently can rest assured. He's OK — the yelling was merely a reaction to the news that he had just won $100,000.

Jeffrey Frazier said he was in his car outside Weis market in the 500 block of West Macphail Road, where he had just purchased a gallon of milk and a scratch-off ticket, when it hit him.

“As I was scratching the ticket in my car, I quickly realized that I had won something big,” said Frazier, 53. “Once I realized it was a top $100,000 prize, I just became so overwhelmed with emotion that I just started screaming out loud."

Continued Frazier: "I know the other customers in the Weis parking lot thought I was going crazy because it was a rather loud scream.”

Frazier, who works as a merchandising distributor for Weis, said he will use the money he won from the Super Crossword scratch-off to help dig him out of a hole from losing a business a few years ago.

"...I had a lot of debt," he told Maryland Lottery officials.

"It was a very stressful time for me," Frazier said, "but with this $100,000 win, I don’t have to worry about that anymore.”

In addition to paying off bills, Frazier said he plans to use his winnings to take his girlfriend of four years on vacation to Vegas.

The Weis where he purchased the Super Crossword scratch-off will receive $1,000, lottery officials said.
