Bel Air Officials in Final Stage of Computer Virus Recovery
Town Administrator Chris Schlehr met with a Microsoft certified technician Thursday.

Nearly three months after a Bel Air's network servers, Chris Schlehr said he and his fellow town employees are in the clear.
The town administrator met with a Microsoft certified computer technician at 11 a.m. Thursday to discuss protection from future attacks.
"We’re probably 95 percent [recovered] and we’re still looking at some additional enhancements and changes. ... We’re essentially done," Schlehr said Thursday morning. "He’s going to come in and see what we have and give us some recommendations on what we might be able to do to further strengthen ourselves."

Complicating the issue is the absence of the town's Information Technology Specialist Wendell Baxter, who has been on leave due to knee replacement surgery that took place before the virus hit.
Schlehr added that today's consultation with the Microsoft technician will be of no cost to the town, but that he could later choose to hire him as an independent contractor.
