Bel Air Police: Death Near Parking Garage Investigated as Suicide

The victim was a woman in her 50s, according to police.

A woman died after a fall from the Hickory Avenue parking garage in Bel Air Wednesday morning, according to police.

At 9:56 a.m., officials were notified that a woman was in trauma arrest in front of the garage at 16 Hickory Avenue, the Bel Air Police Department reported.

The victim, an unidentified woman in her mid 50s, was found on the sidewalk near the stairway on the Courtland Street side of the garage, according to the report.

Deputies attended to her upon arrival and then paramedics took her to a local hospital, where police said she was pronounced deceased.

Preliminary investigation indicates the death was a suicide, and foul play was not involved, according to police.

This was the second suspected suicide at the Bel Air parking garage in approximately eight months. A woman committed suicide at the parking garage last October.
