Police: Woman's Death off Hickory Avenue Ruled Suicide
The death was unrelated to other incidents in the area, according to Bel Air Police Department.

A Bel Air woman was killed Wednesday morning in what officials said was a suicide near Hickory Avenue.
At 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, police responded to Courtland Place and administered first aid to a woman who was injured, the Bel Air Police Department reported.
The Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company reported at 10:45 a.m. that first responders were at Hickory Avenue and Courtland Place, where an individual was in trauma arrest. The individual was being taken to a local hospital, according to the fire company.

The victim, a Bel Air woman, was declared deceased at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, police said.
A Bel Air Patch reader said after noon that the street was cordoned off, with police tape surrounding Hickory Avenue.

There was recently a criminal investigation at the Hickory Avenue parking garage after an Oct. 11 rape there, which police said was “in no way connected” to Wednesday’s incident.
“Subsequent investigation revealed that the woman’s death was a suicide and not the result of any criminal activity and is in no way connected to previous incidents at the parking garage,” the Bel Air Police Department said in a statement.
Police said there was no threat to public safety, and the woman’s name was not released as next of kin are being notified.
