County Seeks Visions for 'Tire Lot' in Downtown Bel Air
Harford County solicits interest in one of last remaining parcels in Bel Air's downtown district.

BEL AIR, MD - Harford County is looking to transform 2.5 acres that county officials say represents one of the last major development opportunities in the vibrant downtown area of Bel Air.
The property, made up of two parcels, is known as the “tire lot,” for a business that used to occupy the site. Currently, it is a parking lot and storage center.
The county recently put out the call for expressions of interest in developing the tire lot, with submissions due in January.

“We are looking for a high-quality, mixed-use concept that is in keeping with the community character and our goals for economic development," County Executive Barry Glassman said in a statement.
The county is looking for a creative approach to developing the property that is millennial-focused and consistent with the town's character, according to the call for interest on the Harford County bid board. Parking, pedestrians and landscaping are elements that must be considered in development as well.
