Crash Into Pole On Route 7 Injures One: Abingdon Fire Company

One of the more than 200 crashes reported during the snow and ice event over the past day and a half included this crash in Harford County.

BELCAMP, MD — Hundreds of crashes were reported around the state during this week's mix of snow and ice, according to Maryland State Police. One of them happened Monday night along MD 7/Philadelphia Road in Harford County.

A vehicle hit a utility pole on Philadelphia Road in the area of Burnt Hill Trail, according to the Abingdon Fire Company. Its personnel were dispatched to the scene of the crash at 8:39 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 11.

Crews took the victim to a regional trauma center for treatment, officials reported.

State police said that its officers responded to 226 crashes and 74 unattended vehicles between midnight Monday and 5 a.m. Tuesday. During that time, police reported Allegany, Carroll, Cecil, Frederick, Garrett, Washington and Harford counties had snow emergency plans in effect.

Harford County lifted its snow emergency plan at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12.
