Darrell 'Shammah' Walter Hopkins, 28, of Edgewood

Darrell "Shammah" Walter Hopkins, of Edgewood, died at the age of 28 on Oct. 9, 2016. He was born in Baltimore to Angela Marie Hopkins of Edgewood. He worked as a salesperson in the automotive industry. Darrell loved music. He mastered many instruments, including the guitar, and played in an alternative rock band for several years. He was a huge fan of martial arts, Jiu Jitsu in particular, as well as, working-out. He was also a big foody, and loved nothing more than his wife's cooking.

In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Stephanie Lynn Hopkins; his son, Owen Wesley Hopkins of Edgewood; his brother, Christopher Blake Hopkins of Edgewood; his sister, Candice Domnique Hopkins of Atlanta, Georgia; grandparents, Dorothy Hopkins and James Hopkins, Barbara J. Zeigenfuse of Towson and William C. Davis of Baltimore; father–in-law, Brian Collins of Tampa, Florida; mother-in-law, Melinda J. Bahl of Edgewood; sisters-in-law, Teisha Gillespie of Arlington, VA, Brandy Collins, Autumn Collins, Jazmein Bahl, Ciera Bahl and Savanna Bahl all of Edgewood; nephews, Shane Bahl of Edgewood and Nolan Fauceglio; and niece, Ilanna Bahl of Edgewood.

The family is requesting that you do not wear black.

Visitation will be from 2–4 and 7–9 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 16, at McComas Funeral Home, 1317 Cokesbury Rd., Abingdon, MD US 21009.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 17, at McComas Funeral Home, 1317 Cokesbury Rd., Abingdon, MD US 21009.
