Drunk Driver Crashes Into Sheriff's Deputy Stopped At Traffic Light: Police
A Fallston man has been charged with driving while intoxicated after he rear-ended a Harford Co. sheriff's deputy's vehicle, officials said.
HARFORD COUNTY, MD — The Harford County sheriff's deputy who was rear-ended in his squad car while stopped at a traffic light Monday has been released from the hospital. The driver who is accused of hitting the deputy's vehicle, 40-year-old Caleb Church of Fallston, has been charged in the incident.
According to a release from the Harford County Sheriff's office, Church was driving a Mazda 3 with two passengers, one adult and one youth, when he struck the deputy's vehicle and pushed him into another vehicle.

- Failure to control speed to avoid a collision;
- Reckless driving; and
- Driving under the influence/driving while intoxicated.
The deputy was stopped at the intersection of Route 152/Fallston Road and Oakmont Road in a marked patrol vehicle. The three people in the vehicle hit by the deputy were taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
