Edgewood Shooting Victim Was Not Target, Sheriff Says

Authorities are investigating a shooting that injured a man in Edgewood, and a reward is offered for information.

EDGEWOOD, MD — A man suffered a graze wound in a shooting in Edgewood Thursday night, according to authorities. Investigators said that the victim did not appear to be the intended target.

Deputies were dispatched to the 700 block of Stanford Court in Edgewood at 9:21 p.m. for a report of a person with a gunshot wound, officials said.

Medics treated the 56-year-old victim, who had been inside his home at the time of the shooting, according to authorities.

Officials said the man refused to go to the hospital and was treated at the scene by medics for a graze wound to the abdomen.

"...the initial investigation indicates he was not the target of the shooting," the Harford County Sheriff's Office said in a statement Friday morning.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
