EDGEWOOD, MD — Two people were injured in an altercation around a laundry room in Edgewood Sunday afternoon that ended with a stabbing, officials say. One was hurt while trying to intervene, authorities reported. Both are hospitalized, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office, which reported the attack appeared to be targeted.
At 12:18 p.m., deputies from the southern precinct were called to the 1700 block of Dearwood Court for a reported stabbing. They found a woman stabbed multiple times in the upper body, who was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, officials said. Her injuries are serious, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office. Investigators believe she was in the area of the laundry room when she and another woman got into an argument that escalated.
A man was trying to break up the assault when he, too, was injured, according to authorities. He was taken to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center for injuries described as minor, officials said.
