Town Meeting: $750K Loan, Development Regulations Change

Another step toward relocation at Monday's Board of Commissioners meeting. A resolution is on the table to finalize the purchase of 33–37 S. Main Street for $1,032,400.

If approved, the document states that the town will pay $800,000 from its unreserved fund balance and approve as much as $750,000 for a tax-exempt loan. A $50,000 deposit was made in August in a contract with Branch Banking and Trust Company.

Additionally, there is an ordinance on the agenda that would recode part of the town's development regulations. There is a public hearing scheduled for this ordinance.
