Fallen Harford Deputies to Be Memorialized at IronBirds Game
With tributes on the field and in the sky, Aberdeen IronBirds will honor two slain Harford County sheriff's deputies.

ABERDEEN, MD — New numbers will be painted on the field at Ripken Stadium this week for the Aberdeen IronBirds home opener against the Auburn Doubledays.
The badge numbers of Senior Deputy Patrick Dailey and Deputy First Class Mark Logsdon will be painted in the outfield, and they will remain there for the rest of the season to honor the two Harford County sheriff's deputies who died in the line of duty on Feb. 10.
Families of both officers will help throw the ceremonial first pitch on Wednesday, after which more than one dozen white doves will be released, according to organizers.

In addition, the IronBirds will wear a special patch on their jerseys—a gray American flag with a blue stripe down the middle—as a tribute to law enforcement everywhere. Team members will play with the patches both on the road and away for the entire season.

"This outward showing of support and dedication to the members of the Harford County Sheriff's Office and recognizing the sacrifice made by Pat and Mark, is truly inspiring and a testament to the character of the IronBirds organization," Harford County Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler said in a statement. "Ever since the stadium first opened, and the IronBirds moved to Aberdeen, they have been a constant contributor and supporter of the communities here in Harford County."
