Fallston Student Charged with Terroristic Threats: Sheriff

A teen allegedly made threats against Fallston High School this week on social media, Harford County Sheriff's Office reports.

A 15-year-old has been charged in connection with threats made against Fallston High School, according to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office.

A school resource officer learned of a social media post in which the student threatened to bring weapons to the school, the sheriff’s office reported.

Once the officer became aware of the post at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 15, investigators searched the home of the student, according to the sheriff’s office.

Detectives found the student did not have any weapons, the sheriff’s office reported.

The student told deputies the social media post was a joke, according to the report.

“The Harford County Sheriff’s Office takes all threats to our communities and the safety and security of our schools seriously and will take all necessary steps to investigate threatening statements and behaviors to the fullest,” Sheriff Jeffrey R. Gahler said in a statement.

The teen has been charged with terroristic threats and disruption of school operations, according to the sheriff’s office. He was released to the custody of his parents.
