Fire Sends Smoke For Miles, Harford Emergency Officials Say

Firefighters from three companies were working to battle the blaze Tuesday in Harford County.

FOREST HILL, MD — Authorities said a call about smoke led firefighters to a structure engulfed in flames Tuesday afternoon in Harford County.

Those who were first at the scene said there was "heavy smoke in the sky from miles out," according to Rich Gardiner, spokesman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.

At 3 p.m., Gardiner said crews were working to control the blaze in the 2700 block of Sandy Hook Road.

By 4 p.m., crews remained at the scene of the one-alarm building fire.
