Firefighter Falls Through Garage Roof While Battling Blaze In Harford County

A firefighter fell through the roof of a garage that was on fire Friday morning. The firefighter sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Shortly before 3 a.m. Friday, a fire broke out in a one-story wood frame garage. A firefighter battling the blaze was injured after falling through the roof. The firefighter was taken to the hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.

According to the Maryland Office of the State Fire Marshal, the fire broke out in the 3300 block of Hughes Road in Darlington. The structure sustained $20,000 in loss.

More than two dozen firefighters with the Darlington Volunteer Fire Company responded to the call. It took them about 30 minutes to reign in the fire, which was reported by a neighbor.
