Harford County is hosting a free workshop for small business owners, “Hiring Your First Employee: From Preparation to Onboarding,” on Thursday, May 14, at 5:30 p.m. at the CONVERGE Center in Aberdeen.
“This free workshop is designed to help small business owners make the big leap of hiring their first employee to help grow their business,” County Executive Bob Cassilly said. “Participants will gain the practical tools they need to navigate the hiring process, meet legal requirements, and set their new team member up for success.”
Topics will include:
• Determining readiness to hire and defining the employee’s role
• Legal requirements for hiring, payroll, and classification
• Onboarding basics and setting clear expectations
Presented in partnership with the Harford County Chamber of Commerce’s Harford Young Professionals & Entrepreneurs (HYPE) Group, the workshop is part of the Harford County Department of Economic Development’s LevelUp Harford Business Workshop Series, which provides practical tools and expert guidance to help local businesses grow, adapt, and compete in today’s marketplace.
The event is free, but registration is required at bit.ly/LevelUpFirstEmployee.
