The visit from the 12,000-pound behemoth is part of a national tour that has been going on since 2012, when the Idaho Potato Commission celebrated its 75th anniversary. Originally planned as a one-year deal, the tour was so popular, the 6-ton potato has continued making the rounds.

The potato will be at Maryland House from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 21.
