Harford Community College Evacuated After Threat: Sheriff
Law enforcement officials were investigating the source, the Harford County Sheriff's Office reported.
The Harford Community College campus was on lockdown Tuesday night because of a threat that remained under investigation Wednesday, according to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office.
The college would open on time Wednesday, according to Harford Community College officials, who said in a statement: “The emergency situation on our campus has been resolved.”
Police blanketed the campus on Thomas Run Road after it was the target of a threatening phone call, the sheriff’s office reported at 9:35 p.m.

According to WBAL, the Bel Air Police Department received a phone call at approximately 7:45 p.m. Tuesday in which someone was “threatening to do shooting and possibly some bombing at the college,” according to Maj. William Davis of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office, which handled the incident, as Harford Community College is in its jurisdiction.
Shortly before 10 p.m., the sheriff’s office advised students to shelter in place and await further direction from law enforcement.

State troopers, sheriff’s deputies, campus police, Bel Air police, Baltimore County police and the Harford County Department of Emergency Services facilitated the process of clearing out the campus as authorities pursued leads into who made the threat, officials said.
By 12:23 a.m., the Harford Community College campus had been safely evacuated, the sheriff’s office reported, and students could be picked up at the nearby Campus Hills Shopping Center.
There were no injuries as a result of the incident, and law enforcement officials said they were continuing to investigate the source of the threat Wednesday.
