HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A corporal has been charged with sex offenses, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office. He was suspended with pay, which is required by the Law Enforcement Officer's Bill of Rights, officials reported.

Gregory has been with the sheriff's office since 2002 and was promoted to corporal in 2015, according to the agency.

The Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division and Office of Professional Standards conducted the investigation into the incident.

"The Harford County Sheriff’s Office holds its employees to the highest standards and will thoroughly investigate all allegations of misconduct, remaining vigilant to ensure our efforts are professional and meet the high standards the public has come to expect from our deputies," according to a statement from the Harford County Sheriff's Office. "The acts alleged are not reflective of the hard work and dedication of the men and women of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office."

According to the sheriff's office, it does not issue mug shots when a criminal summons has been issued, which was the case in this instance.

Gregory is slated to appear in Harford County District Court for the second-degree assault and fourth-degree sex offense charges on May 28.
