Harford County Coronavirus: 111 Confirmed Cases, Glassman Says
More than 100 cases of the new coronavirus have been confirmed in Harford County, officials report.
HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Cases of the new coronavirus are in the triple digits now in Harford County. Nobody in Harford County has died from the virus, which has resulted in the death of 171 Marylanders, state health officials reported as of Friday, April 10.
So far 110 cases of the new coronavirus have been confirmed in Harford County, the Maryland Department of Health reported Friday. The county had a different number.
“As of this morning public health officials have reported a total of 111 positive cases of COVID-19 among Harford County residents compared to 41 last week, fortunately with no reported deaths at this time," County Executive Barry Glassman said in a statement Friday.

The Maryland Department of Health and Upper Chesapeake opened a testing center for the virus April 1 at the Vehicle Emissions Inspection Program (VEIP) site in Forest Hill. People must have an appointment and doctor's order to get tested.
As of Friday, there have been 37,480 negative tests statewide and 6,968 confirmed cases of the virus.
The first case of new coronavirus in Harford County was reported March 9. One week after returning from overseas, officials said an 86-year-old woman who had traveled through Turkey was hospitalized after she became ill. She was home from the hospital, Glassman reported as of Friday, March 27.
While at that time it was believed the new coronavirus was primarily a danger to older adults, Glassman said Friday 68 percent of Marylanders with COVID-19 are between 20 and 60 years old.
State officials also reported 397 people have been released from isolation, and 1,413 have ever been hospitalized due to the virus in Maryland, as of Friday.
