Harford County Exec Says Kamenetz Saw 'Our Regions As Partners'
Harford County Executive Barry Glassman said he worked with Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz as advocates for the "Big 7."

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — After the death of the Baltimore County executive early Thursday morning, those around the state, including in Harford County, have been expressing their condolences. Harford County Executive Barry Glassman ordered the Harford County flag to fly at half-staff.
“I am saddened by the loss of my fellow county executive in local government Kevin Kamenetz," said Glassman.
Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz, a Democrat, died early Thursday morning at the age of 60.

"As a member of Maryland’s Big 7 counties, he was always interested in ways we could help each other and our regions as partners," Glassman said. The "Big 7" includes Baltimore, Harford, Howard, Anne Arundel, Montgomery and Prince George's counties and Baltimore city.
Kamenetz had been the Baltimore County executive since 2010 and was running for the Democratic nomination for governor. Glassman noted that they served together on the board of the Maryland Association of Counties, of which Kamenetz was president in 2017.

Said Glassman: "Harford County’s hearts and prayers go out to his family and host of statewide supporters.”
The Harford County flag and Maryland flag will remain at half-staff until sunset on the day of interment.
