Harford County Executive Orders Flags Lowered

'Today was a terrible reminder' of the dangerous job law enforcement officers face daily, County Executive Barry Glassman said.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD – Flags will be lowered countywide after two deputies were killed in the line of duty Wednesday.

Harford County Executive Barry Glassman ordered the flags to be flown at half-staff effective immediately following the deaths of two deputies, allegedly shot by a man who was subsequently shot and killed.

Glassman issued the following statement on the deaths of members of the sheriff’s office:

“Today was a terrible reminder that the men and women in law enforcement risk their lives on every call. We had an opportunity to visit the families to share our condolences on behalf of the citizens of Harford County. We know that both families face trying times ahead and we pray for their healing and comfort. As we grieve together in the spirit of community, let us also honor the service and sacrifice of these two fallen heroes.”
