Harford County Teen Died Running To School Bus: Police
Police said that a teen was killed in Harford County Tuesday morning trying to catch the school bus on Norrisville Road.

WHITE HALL, MD — Police said a Harford County teenager died Tuesday morning as he ran to catch the school bus. The driver who hit him is not facing charges, according to officials.
Kyle Lynam, 16, of White Hall, was running on Norrisville Road after 6:30 a.m. when he was hit, police said. The teen was a student at North Harford High School.
The fatal crash occurred before sunrise, which was around 7:10 a.m. in Harford County on Tuesday.

Police said the 2015 Chevy Tahoe involved in the crash was headed north on Norrisville Road.
Lynam, who had been running south on the northbound shoulder, was hit when he crossed the street toward the bus, WBAL reported.

Emergency personnel from the Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company took Lynam to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, where he underwent emergency surgery and was pronounced deceased around 10:30 a.m. after "multiple attempts to save his life," according to the GoFundMe page set up to assist with funeral costs.
"On October 9, 2018, the world lost a little pocket full of sunshine when Kyle Lynam was called home," stated the GoFundMe page, which said the 16-year-old was an aspiring firefighter and tow truck driver who was active in Boy Scouts as well as an all-around "fun-loving, energetic, happy young man."
Lynam was hit while running to catch the bus to North Harford High School, where he was a sophomore, according to WJZ. Harford County Public Schools said in a statement obtained by station that the school system was "deeply saddened by the death of one of our students."
Students at North Harford were informed of Lynam's death at the end of the school day on Tuesday, The Baltimore Sun reported, and school officials say counselors are available for those seeking support.
After the Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company and Harford County Sheriff's Office responded to the initial collision, Maryland State Police handled the investigation into the crash.
Based on the initial findings, police said that the bus had not put out its stop sign with flashing red lights or extended the arm signaling to drivers in both directions that they must stop. It did have flashing yellow lights on, officials reported. Flashing yellow lights mean the bus is preparing to load or unload children, and drivers nearby should slow down and prepare to stop.
William P. Murphy Jr., 40, of Felton, Pennsylvania, who had been driving the Tahoe, is not facing any charges, according to Maryland State Police.
Norrisville Road was closed between Troyer Road and Daisy Lane until approximately 9:40 a.m. for the investigation, according to the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.
There was a vigil for Lynam at the Jarrettsville sunflower fields Tuesday night, according to Fox 45.
