State roads have been pretreated with salt brine, and crews are ready to keep roads clear, according to the Maryland State Highway Administration, which advised 2 to 4 inches of snow could fall Monday near the Pennsylvania line, and there is "potential for significant icing" overnight north and west of Interstate 95. Transportation officials anticipate areas south of I-95 will see all rain before the precipitation ends early Tuesday.

Drivers should avoid travel if possible during the weather event, according to the State Highway Administration, which encouraged people who must be on the road to "take it slow on ice and snow"; give snow plows a wide berth; and be on alert for ice along bridges, ramps and overpasses, which tend to freeze first.
Pedestrians should be mindful of their first few steps outside due to the potential for icy and slippery conditions on steps, sidewalks and driveways.

There is another chance for snow this week, according to the National Weather Service, which issued a hazardous weather outlook due to what forecasters described as a "slight winter storm threat" Wednesday night and Thursday. If this storm materializes, officials said it could cause disruptions to travel.
Gale-force winds are also possible Thursday into Friday morning, forecasters advised.
Another "slight winter storm threat" is also possible Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
