Harford County Voting: Mail-In Ballots, Election Drop Boxes

Voters in Harford County must soon decide how and when they will cast their ballots for the 2020 general election.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — As the presidential election draws near, voters in Harford County must decide how and when to cast their ballots. From drop boxes to the U.S. mail to in-person voting, there are options.

Early voting in Maryland runs from Oct. 26 to Nov. 2.

Election Day is Nov. 3.

Registered voters can:

  • Vote by mail.
    • First, request a mail-in ballot from the State Board of Elections or your local board.
      • Valid Maryland ID is required.
      • Election officials must receive the request by Oct. 20 (leave five businesses days for USPS to deliver the request).
    • Your mail-in ballot must be mailed or dropped in a designated drop box location by 8 p.m. on Election Day.
  • Put your ballot in a Harford County ballot drop box.
    • Harford County will have five secure ballot drop boxes under 24/7 surveillance:
      • Aberdeen Activity Center, 7 Franklin Street, Aberdeen
      • McFaul Activity Center, 525 West MacPhail Road, Bel Air
      • Edgewood Rec Center, 1980 Brookside Drive, Edgewood
      • Harford County Board of Elections, 133 Industry Lane, Forest Hill
      • Jarrettsville Fire Hall, 3825 Federal Hill Road, Jarrettsville
  • Vote in person.
    • This can be done during the early voting period — Oct. 26 to Nov. 2 — or on Election Day, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
      • On early voting days, cast your ballot at one of Harford County's early voting polling places:
        • Aberdeen Activity Center, 7 Franklin Street, Aberdeen
        • McFaul Activity Center, 525 West MacPhail Road, Bel Air
        • Edgewood Rec Center, 1980 Brookside Drive, Edgewood
        • Jarrettsville Fire Hall, 3825 Federal Hill Road, Jarrettsville
          • The State Board of Elections says the best time to vote is on weekends.
  • On Election Day, cast your ballot at one of Harford County's polling places.
    • McFaul Activity Center, 525 W MacPhail Road, Bel Air
    • Bel Air High School, 100 Heighe Street, Bel Air
    • C. Milton Wright High School, 1301 N. Fountain Green Road, Bel Air
    • Harford Technical High School, 200 Thomas Run Road, Bel Air

    • Jarrettsville Fire Hall, 3825 Federal Hill Road, Jarrettsville
    • Fallston High School, 2301 Carrs Mill Road, Fallston
      • Voters will be required to stand 6 feet apart, and the number of people inside voting centers will be capped (which may result in lines and wait times)
      • The State Board of Elections says the best time to vote is between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Visit elections.maryland.gov to register to vote or update your registration information. The deadline is Oct. 13.

You can also register to vote or update your information in person during early voting or on Election Day. If you update your address on Nov. 3, you'll be asked to complete a provisional ballot.
