Harford Mom Wins Cash For Life From Maryland Lottery
A Harford County woman and her family of five will receive $1,000 a week for life after purchasing a winning ticket.

WHITE HALL, MD — A Harford County mom recently won $1,000 a week for the rest of her life after playing the Maryland Lottery's Cash4Life game, lotto officials announced. She said she and her husband plan to continue working but will use the money to pay for things like vacations.
The couple has three children, and she had dropped off her daughter at basketball practice when she stopped at the High's at 4525 Norrisville Road to get gas. While there, she purchased two $4 lottery tickets in the Cash4Life game.
To play the game, people pick six numbers per ticket. Drawings are Mondays and Thursdays at 9 p.m.

One of her tickets matched five of the six numbers, which qualifies for a second-tier prize, consisting of $1,000 a week for the rest of her life. She checked the ticket on Friday, Jan. 18, and realized she was a winner.
“I didn’t believe it at first,” the woman, whose identity was not publicly disclosed, told Maryland Lottery officials.

There have been 29 top-prize Cash4Life winners since the game debuted in January 2016, according to the Maryland Lottery. For matching all six numbers, they get $1,000 a day for the rest of their lives.
A total of 64 second-tier winners have matched five numbers, as the Harford County woman did, qualifying for $1,000 a week for the rest of her life.
“I’m going to keep working," said the 42-year-old winner, who is a nurse. "We’ve got three kids," she said. "Still, we’ll be able to have nice dinners and vacations forever!"
Her husband works in the fire service as a first responder and had returned home from a 24-hour shift when she discovered she had the winning ticket.
“I guess we have to take the kids to Disney World," she said. "That’s what people do, right?”
